YORKTOWN — Mr. Brian F. Hanlon, age 77, of York County, died Saturday January 22, 2022, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia.
Mr. Hanlon was a native of Boston, Massachusetts, and a former resident of Gulfport, Florida, and Dahlonega, Georgia, before settling in York County in 2017. He was the son of the late James P. Hanlon and Catherine Gibbons, and was preceded in death by his first wife Ursula Harrington Hanlon of 43 years, son James F. Hanlon, and brother James Hanlon. He is survived by his wife Sarah; son and daughter in law, Brian (Christine), Williamsburg, Va.; son Gregory, Taccoa, Ga.; daughter and son in law, Melissa (Ronald) Trigg, Murrayville, Ga.; sisters Catherine and Geraldine, Saint Petersburg, Fl.; grandchildren Ashley, Morgan, Carly, Christian, Abigail and Madeline; and great grandchildren Baylee and Jameson.
He possessed a tremendous work ethic and attention to detail during his long career in the construction trades and facilities management until retiring from the Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Facilities Management Department. He was a caring soul and a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and reliable friend to many throughout his life. Always quick with a smile and a joke, Brian befriended many of his fellow Colonial Harbor residents and brought smiles to many faces. At his request, there is no funeral or memorial service planned.
