WILLIAMSBURG — Douglas Allan Smith, 65, passed away Nov. 30 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in St. Paul, MN to the late William and Shirley Smith. After Douglas retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, he opened his own business in HVAC. His most recent work was part time as a maintenance tech with Greystone.
Douglas is predeceased by his son Jesse. He is survived by his wife Linda of 40 years; son Shawn (Heather) Smith; grandsons Clyde and Myles of Silver Spring, MO; siblings Lindy (Jim) Arthur of Portland, OR, Dennis (Trish) Smith of Florissant, MO, Rebecca Wright of Florida, Laurie (Kevin) Shafer of Columbus, IN, Barbara (Bill) Dixon of Columbus, IN, Lisa Andry of Columbus, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his loving in laws; numerous friends; and the beloved cockapoos Bear and Amber.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 11:00 am at Liberty Live Church on Croaker Road. Donations may be made to Disabled American Vets. A special thank you to all of the caring supportive family, friends and neighbors, and especially to the loving staff at Riverside Hospice.
