Elizabeth E. Bruso, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Born in Enosburg Falls, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Marion Doner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Bruso Sr.; and son, Charles K. Bruso.
She was a retired clerk for the City of Virginia Beach Treasurer’s Office, a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Left to cherish her memory are brother, Danton Doner of Connecticut; sons, Dale Bruso, and wife, Chris, of California, Carl Bruso, and wife, Barbara, of Chesapeake, Gerald Bruso Jr., and wife, Teresa, of Virginia Beach and Raymond Bruso Sr., and wife, Jackie, of Virginia Beach; and 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, where the family will remain to receive friends. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
