Stephen ‘Bruce’ Trotter, 69, served his country for 32 years and received multiple decorations

Stephen “Bruce” Trotter, 69, of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016.

A retired officer of the U.S. Army, Bruce served his country for 32 years and received multiple decorations. He enjoyed running, traveling and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Marjorie Trotter; and son, Kenneth Pruitt.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Bobby Pruitt (Diana); daughter, Donna Pruitt; granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer Pruitt; brother, Scott Trotter; and sisters, Leigh Trotter and Margot Davis.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. The service will immediately follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. A reception will follow after the service. Internment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or preferred veterans organization of choice.
