Jeremy David Collins was rescued by His Heavenly Father on January 4, 2016.
Born in Hampton, VA, he was the beloved son of Richard (Rick) K. and Nancy F. Collins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert C. and Mary M. Finch and fraternal grandmother, Dorothy B. Collins.
He is survived by his grandfather, Rev. Bob K. Collins; his sister, Holly C. Bowes; his brother Timothy R. Collins and wife Kim T. Collins.
Jeremy dearly loved his nephew Caedon and the niece he described as “the most beautiful girl in the world,” Emma. Jeremy was truly appreciative of the faithful visits that he received in recent years from his grandfather, and uncle Donald W. Collins and aunt, Kim M. He was forever grateful for the unconditional love and support that he received from all of his extended family.
Once Jeremy opened his eyes from birth he rarely slept as his desire was to live each day to the fullest. He was always in awe of the beauty of God’s created Earth and would rather surf the shores of the Outer Banks, N.C. than eat. In recent months, Jeremy would use every available chance to stand in awe of the incredible sunrise and sunsets at the beach.
His love of diverse music and books allowed him to converse with anyone about the major questions of life. He would always laugh out loud when someone would daringly challenge him to a game of Scrabble. His glowing personality, contagious smile and laugh were a delight for those who truly knew him. He was indeed a caring man and loyal friend to all those who faced major challenges in their lives.
Like many across our world, Jeremy suffered from addictions. His true desire was to be set free from the addictive demons that caused such pain and sorrow in his life. We as his family have proudly stood by him during his journey and we will truly miss our dear son, brother and friend that God richly blessed our lives with here on earth … we love you Jeremy and we will see you soon!
