
James A. ‘Greyhound’ Wynn died Sept. 27, 2013, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Wynn was born on Dec. 7, 1937, and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was employed by Williamsburg Drug Company’s Restaurant, formerly in Merchants Square, and retired after many years of service. All who knew him agree he was deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
Mr. Wynn is preceded in death by his parents, Daisy and Joseph Wynn and two brothers, Thomas A. Harris and James P. Mitchell.
Mr. Wynn is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys V. Wynn; daughters, Beverly Harris and Virginia Wesley; sister, Ethel L. Brown; brother, Arthur K. Wynn, Sr.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Leigh Mitchell; godson, Matthew Moore; and many other loving relatives and a host of caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in Whiting’s Chapel with the Rev. Steven L. Keller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 5821 Richmond Road by 12 noon on Saturday. Mr. Wynn may be viewed in the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 4, 2013.
