W&M Men’s Soccer Releases 2024 Schedule

(Tribe Athletics)

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary men’s soccer coach Chris Norris recently announced the Tribe’s upcoming schedule for the 2024 season. The slate will feature eight home matches with another eight coming away from Williamsburg.

After a home exhibition against Christopher Newport on Aug. 19 and preseason tune-ups against Princeton and West Chester on Aug. 23 at Penn, the Tribe will open their season with a trip to Binghamton on Aug. 28.

2024 will mark the second consecutive year that W&M’s lid lifter has come against the Bearcats, with the Tribe taking a 2-1 decision in Williamsburg to kick off the 2023 season.

Norris’ squad will remain up north for their second game of the season as well, taking on New Hampshire on Aug. 31. Another repeat opponent, the Wildcats came to the Commonwealth in 2023 ranked 19th in the nation and bested the Tribe 4-2.

The home opener at Martin Family Stadium will take place just days later, with the Green and Gold welcoming in-state foe Longwood for a 7 p.m. kick on Sept. 4. The meeting will serve as the 11th all-time between the two sides, with the last two resulting in draws after the Tribe won the first eight matches in the series.

W&M will remain right at home as CAA play begins shortly after on Sept. 7 when Hofstra comes to town. The Tribe will then hit the road to take on Old Dominion in Norfolk on Sept. 10.

Another non-conference home fixture takes place on Sept. 13 when the Penn Quakers come to Martin Family Stadium for the first matchup between the two schools since 1998.

The Tribe’s first road CAA contest takes place eight days later when they take on Northeastern on Sept. 21. The squad will remain on the road, traveling to Commonwealth foe George Mason just three days later, on Sept. 24.

W&M will begin their longest stretch of conference games on Sept. 28, welcoming UNCW to Williamsburg for the first of three consecutive CAA matches. The Tribe will travel to Elon (Oct. 5) before returning home to face Monmouth (Oct. 12) to close out the three-game stretch.

The Green and Gold will welcome in North Carolina of the ACC for some non-conference action on Oct. 15, another repeat opponent from a year ago. The two sides battled to a scoreless draw last season in Chapel Hill when the Tar Heels were ranked 11th in the nation.

Later that week the Tribe will head to Philadelphia for a CAA match with Drexel on Oct. 19 and then return home to host a pair of opponents from the state of North Carolina. NC State is on tap first on Oct. 23 before conference opponent Campbell comes to town on Oct. 26.

W&M will wrap up the regular season in the Empire State, visiting Stony Brook on Nov. 2.

All tickets for William & Mary soccer will go on sale in the July.
