(Tribe Athletics)

WILLIAMSBURG — Fresh off a nationally-ranked win, William & Mary men’s tennis moved up in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Team Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. After entering the first national computerized rankings last week at No. 73, the Tribe jumped to No. 65 on Tuesday.

The national ranking is the highest for the program since it finished the 2021 campaign at No. 59 in the country.

The Tribe picked up a 4-3 win over then-No. 62 Dartmouth on Saturday. After winning the doubles point, W&M received singles wins from Konstantinos Raptis and Oliver Hague at No. 3 and No. 4, before Satchel Benn’s clinching victory on line two.

It was the Green and Gold’s third-straight win as it improved to 5-4 on the year. Six of the Tribe’s nine matches this season have come against teams currently in the top 75, including contests with No. 32 Delaware, No. 35 Florida Atlantic, No. 41 Old Dominion, and No. 70 Yale.

The Tribe hits the road for two matches this week. W&M travels to No. 21 Princeton on Saturday, March 2, at noon, before heading to CAA foe Monmouth on Sunday, March 3, at 11 a.m.
