RICHMOND — William & Mary senior Sam Pritchard was named the CAA Runner of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Pritchard earned a top-10 finished in leading the Tribe to a runner-up performance at the Adidas XC Challenge. The Springfield, Va., native covered the 6k course in 18:20.1 to finish eighth.
As a team, the Tribe finished as the runner-up in a 17-team field, a spot in front of Southeast Region No. 5 Duke. W&M also finished ahead of four CAA foes at the event (Elon in seventh, Charleston in eighth, Campbell in 11th, and N.C. A&T in 14th).
The Tribe returns to action at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Sept. 30.
