WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary sophomores Alfredo Bozalongo and Alexander Levengood earned College Player Awards of Distinction from the United Soccer Coaches. The duo is two of 60 Division I players recognized by the organization.
The new award was established this spring for its member head coaches to submit deserving player based on one or more of the following criteria:
- Player has achieved quality performance on the field;
- Represented the highest ideals of team leadership;
- Exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials and the game in general;
- Made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.
Bozalongo garnered All-CAA Second Team in the midfield for the second time in as many years. He was also named to the VaSID All-State Second Team for the second year in a row. He started all six matches in the midfield, playing 559 total minutes, which ranked second on the team.
Levengood earned All-CAA and VaSID All-State First Team this past spring. He led the Tribe and ranked among the CAA leaders in goals (3) and points (7) in 2021. Levengood topped the CAA South Division with three goals. He tallied two goals in the Tribe’s win over Charleston and added another at Elon.
