WILLIAMSBURG — Local Gamestore Tap ‘N Roll has moved from its original location to a new storefront on Lightfoot Road in Lightfoot Crossing as of April 24.
Tap ‘N Roll opened its doors in December of 2022, and since opening, the store has seen overwhelming support from the community of gamers that have made the store a location to play.
“We’re committed to crafting a welcoming and inclusive space where gamers can come together to play, learn, and connect,” said Katherine Bass, co-owner of Tap ‘N Roll.
The store stocks a wide variety of card games, from Magic: The Gathering to Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) to more lesser-known card games. Resource books and adventures are available for Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder fans, as well as gaming accessories like dice and card sleeves. There is also a variety of board games to choose from.
The choice to move was driven by the desire of owners Jeremy and Katherine Bass to provide an even better experience for their customers.
“We wanted to create a space where gamers could come together to share their love of gaming and build lasting connections,” said Katherine Bass.
The larger location allows the store to host larger events for the community, as well as hold events simultaneously.

One of the events coming up over the weekend will be a 32-person Lorcana Set Championship which, Bass notes, would not have been possible at the previous location. The store is also now running a Play! Pokemon League and will soon be running leagues by ages and offering play several times a week.
In addition to more events, Tap N Roll is also looking to expand its offerings, including private event rentals, educator nights, homeschool days, and RPG socials.
As part of its Grand Opening Month of Events, multiple games including its first-ever Pokemon Pre-Release, a Lorcana Set Championship, Flesh and Blood Pro Quest Tournament, YuGiOh win-a-box event, a May the Fourth Star Wars Unlimited Draft, $10 Magic the Gathering draft nights, and board game nights are scheduled.
Grand Opening weekend for the store kicks off on Friday, May 17, with York County hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and May 17-19 will see special sales, raffles, and giveaways.
Tap ‘N Roll will now be open from noon until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
