NORFOLK — Norfolk Police Department (NPD) is investigating following a shooting that left four juveniles injured.
At approximately 2 p.m., NPD was dispatched to the 900 block of Madison Avenue near Norfolk State University after a gun disturbance was reported.
Upon arrival, officers did not immediately locate any victims. However, a short time later, dispatch was notified that there were several gunshot victims who arrived at local hospitals in a car.
When officers arrived at the hospital, they located four victims of the shooting which included a 6-year-old girl, 14-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old boy. NPD reports that the 6-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries. However, she has since been reported as in stable condition.
The report goes on to state that the 14-year-old boy and both 16-year-old juveniles have sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
