Nextdoor now allows users to locate lights displays in their neighborhood.

The app is free and for Nextdoor members only.

Nextdoor is social network platform (think Facebook but for your neighborhood) and according to Annie Barco, communications manager for Nextdoor, the Cheer Map is seasonal feature where users can see icons which represent lights in their neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods.

Members can also add their own location if they are displaying lights this year.

The app is used by more than 235 neighborhoods in Hampton and Newport News and over 185,000 neighborhoods nationwide, Barco wrote in an email.

For those who don’t like apps, Nextdoor also has a website where you can view the Cheer Map after you’ve signed up. Download the app on your smartphone via the Apple Store or Google Play or visit the Nextdoor website to sign up.

The Cheer Map ends New Years Day.
