Local cops, others host event about domestic violence

HAMPTON — The Hampton and Newport News police departments will host a domestic violence discussion at Peninsula Town Center Saturday.

The event is free and open to the public.

According to the city’s announcement, the event will discuss domestic violence and provide resources for survivors.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Citizens’ Unity Commission, the LGBTQ Awareness Committee, Hampton Roads Pride, the Virginia Department of Health and the Hampton Victim Services Unit also help sponsor the event.

The Shattering Violence OUTLoud event is at the old Sweet Teas at Peninsula Town Center, 3110 Allainby Way on Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
