Celebrate Native American Heritage month this week

NEWPORT NEWS -– Joint Base Langley-Eustis is hosting an event celebrating National American Indian Heritage month at the Wylie Theater Friday.

The event is free and open to the public.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the celebration features a special presentation and artifact display by the Cheroenhaka Nottoway American Indian Tribe from Southampton County.

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis’ National American Indian Heritage Month: Sovereignty, Trust and Resilience celebration is at the Fort Eustis Wylie Theater, 705 Washington Blvd. from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
