Here’s what’s closed for Thanksgiving in Hampton and Newport News

Thanksgiving is in two days but some city services in Hampton and Newport News will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

City offices and services – Nov. 22- 23
City schools – Nov. 21-23

Newport News

City Offices – Nov. 22- 23
Libraries – Nov. 22- 23
Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections delayed one day – Thursday, Nov. 22
Recovery Operations Center (i.e., landfill) – Nov. 22-24
Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter – Nov. 22
