NEWPORT NEWS — The Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center and the Weyanoke Association is celebrating Native American Heritage Month with a community event on Saturday.
The event is free and open to the public, donations are welcome.
According to the cultural center’s event page, the educational program includes singing, crafts, traditional ceremonies and guest speakers.
Attendees should bring a food dish and traditional dress is encouraged.
The Recalling Traditions event is at the Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center, 2803 Oak Ave. oat noon.
