HAMPTON — The Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Hampton Military Affairs Committee is hosting their annual homeless veterans event at the Y.H. Thomas Community Center Saturday.
The event is free and open to homeless veterans, at-risk veterans and their families.
According to the event page, homeless vets can access several resources on-site such as housing information, legal services and health screenings in addition to showers, clothing items and a hot lunch.
There is also free transportation available to veterans with pick-up locations and times across Hampton Roads. See the list below:

Hampton

- Hampton Transit Center, 2 W. Pembroke Ave. Between 7:40 a.m.-7:50 a.m.
- Hampton VAMC – Domiciliary, 100 Emancipation Dr. Between 10:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.
Norfolk
- Union Mission, 5100 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Between 8:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m.

Virginia Beach

The 2018 Veterans Stand Down event is at Y.H. Thomas Community Center, 1300 Thomas St. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Returning transportation to pick-up sites start at 11 a.m.
