Know someone who likes art and airplanes? You might want to let them know about this

The Virginia Department of Aviation is now accepting entries for the International Aviation Art Contest.

The annual art contest is for ages 6-17 and entries must be postmarked by Jan. 19.

Winners are selected from three age groups and the top three entries compete for state, national and international awards, according to the contest’s flyer.

Applicants can use several art mediums including watercolor, acrylic paints, markers and pens — other mediums such as pencil, charcoal and computer-generated artwork are not allowed.

To enter the 2019 International Aviation Art Contest, send the completed entry form and art entries to the Virginia Department of Aviation.
