HAMPTON — Mayor Donnie Tuck and City Manager Mary Bunting are encouraging residents to attend the 2040 Community Plan Kick-Off event at the Hampton Roads Convention Center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The event is free and registration is not required, Robin McCormick, communication strategist for the city, wrote in an email.

According to a news release from the city, the community plan is Hampton’s current, five-year and 20-year strategy for the city’s future and residents can help by sharing their ideas and perspectives at neighborhood groups, civic and business associations, informal chats and online polling.
