NEWPORT NEWS  — Students Run the Streets and the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula are the One City Marathon‘s official charitable partners, the city announced this week.

According to the city’s news release, the two nonprofits will be promoted by the city on the marathon’s website and social media pages, and ask for donations during the marathon registration.

The charitable partners can use the Run for Free crowdfunding program and be included in the post-race celebration.

The Students Run the Streets is a local, after-school running club that benefits middle and high school students. Read more about the nonprofit here.

The 5th Annual Newport News One City Marathon is on March 3 at Newport News Park. The marathon starts at 7 a.m.

For more information about the pre-race pasta dinner, marathon registration or donations, visit the One City Marathon website or email marathon@nngov.com.
