If you want to help raise money for veterans, then you might want to consider this event

NEWPORT NEWS — The Disabled American Veterans organization is hosting a 5k fundraiser at City Center next week.

Registration costs $15 for children 15 and younger and $30 for adults.

The event is free for veterans and active duty members. Click here to register.

The fundraiser aims to raise awareness of issues veterans face daily and proceeds will be used by the DAV to provide free services to veterans and their families, according to the DAV website.

The event also includes a motorcycle ride and a post-race party at Cove Tavern, according to the city’s news release.

So far, the organization has raised $88,600 out of their $131,166 goal.

The 3rd Annual DAV 5K event is at Oyster Point, 701 Town Center Drive on Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.
