Here’s a town hall in Newport News about redistricting

NEWPORT NEWS — State Del. Marcia Price will host an event about redistricting at the city’s Waterworks building this weekend.

The free event features a panel of guests who will answer questions and discuss the past, present and future of redistricting, according to the event page.

Price represents the 95th district.

Panelists also include U.S. Rep. Robert “Bobby” Scott, D-Newport News (3rd district), Quentin Kidd, chairman of public policy department at Christopher Newport University; Marcia Johnson-Blanco, co-director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Right Under Law’s Voting Rights Project and Anthony Fairfax, CEO of the Census Channel.

Cathy Lewis, radio host of WHRO’s HearSay with Cathy Lewis, will be the moderator.

The Redistricting Town Hall will be at the Newport News Waterworks, 700 Town Center Drive on Oct. 14, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
