Registration for next year’s physics conference starts now

The American Physical Society will host its annual Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics at the College of William & Mary early next year.

APS is a nonprofit that works to advance the knowledge of physics and since 2006, has hosted the three-day physics event that aims to provide college undergraduate women the opportunity to learn about graduate school, employment options and to network with other women, according to the APS website.

The CUWiP event is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy and is open to undergraduate women majoring in physics or astrophysics.

Attendees can participate in panel discussions and various workshops throughout the conference. This year, the event will include a visit to Jefferson Labs.

The 2019 Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics will be on Jan. 18-20. The event in open to undergraduate women and the deadline to register is Oct. 12.
