In pictures: This was how businesses in Newport News prepared for Hurricane Florence

NEWPORT NEWS — At least three businesses in a shopping center here have boarded up their doors in anticipation of Hurricane Florence.

Ulta Beauty, Five Below and Stein Mart locations in Marketplace at Tech Center used different materials such as sandbags, plywood, aluminum or steel materials to cover the storefront windows and doors.

These photos were taken Thursday night. The Ulta Beauty location is closed until further notice. It is not clear if Five Below and Stein Mart are also closed at this time.
