This Newport News man is wanted in connection with an attempted murder case in York County

Authorities in York County are looking for information on Esteban Benjamin Fortin, 21, who is wanted in connection with what authorities say was a breaking and entering and attempted murder in York County on Aug. 28.

Fortin, of Newport News, is also wanted on warrants for use and discharge of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

On Aug. 28, a 17-year-old male called to report someone had entered his home by force around 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Little Bay Avenue in York County. Before authorities arrived on the scene, the suspects fired shots at the teen’s vehicle and fled the area in a black sedan.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information on Fortin to call the Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP or the tip line at 757-890-4999.
