NEWPORT NEWS — The beginning of the school year is fast approaching, so here are a few ways to prepare for that first day of school on Sept. 4.
The Newport News Public School staff wants to make sure students and families are prepared for that first day by providing relevant information on their website.
There, you will find bus route information, school supply lists, registration information and more.
All schools will have orientation and open houses on the following dates:
- Aug. 29: Middle School Orientation for rising 6th Grade Students, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Aug. 29: Middle School open house, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Aug. 30: Early Childhood Center and Elementary School open house, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Aug. 31: High School Freshman and New Student orientation, 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
