HAMPTON — The city’s Clean City Commission is sponsoring a rain barrel workshop on Aug. 25 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn how to collect your own rain water in a rain barrel built entirely by yourself.

During the workshop, participants will build and complete a 55- to 60-gallon black or gray rain barrel ready to install, according to a news release from the city.

The workshop will cost $50 and that includes all materials and instruction.

It will take place in the Hampton Clean City Commission conference room, 1296 Thomas St. (in Y.H. Thomas Complex).

Participants must register ahead of time or contact Cris at causink@hampton.gov or call 757-727-1158.

The event is sponsored by the VCE Hampton Master Gardeners and Hampton Clean City Commission.
