NEWPORT NEWS — Come learn about the lost colony of Roanoke with the Warwick County Historical Society on Wednesday at noon.
The Warwick County Historical Society will have a presentation titled “In Search of the Lost Colony” at the 1884 Warwick County Courthouse, 14421 Old Courthouse Way.
Principal investigator and archaeologist of the James River Institute for Archaeology and first president of research for First Colony Foundation, Nicholas Lucketti, will be offering clues on the possible relocation of the Roanoke settlers of the 1585 Lost Colony to a site in Eastern North Carolina called “Site X.”
The event is free and open to the public.
Guests can enjoy lunch beforehand at 11:30 a.m. by ordering a $10 box lunch from Jason’s Deli or bringing their own meal.
