NEWPORT NEWS — The city is hosting a CNI Community Update meeting Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Early Learning Center.
At the meeting residents can get an update on the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative project to transform the Marshall-Ridley neighborhood.
The meeting comes after a notification earlier this month that the city was not selected as a CNI Implementation Grant awardee this year.
City officials met with HUD representatives to get feedback regarding the submitted application and how to improve it.
Information from this debrief will be discussed along with the city’s next steps at the CNI Community Update Meeting.
Residents who attend the meeting can also look forward to an overview of upcoming activities.
