NEWPORT NEWS — The Summer Reading Program sponsored by the city’s public library is wrapping up with two free celebrations across the city.

The Summer Reading Luau will be on July 26 at 2 p.m. at Grissom Library.

Then, on July 31, at 3 p.m., all are welcome to the Summer Reading Celebration at Pearl Bailey Library.

Both events are sponsored by the Friends of the Newport News Public Library.

Those interested can attend events and sign up for the Summer Reading Program 2018 until July 31.

Newport News Public Library offered free programs for all ages, including science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) programs for youth, as part of its Summer Reading Program 2018.

According to the city, thousands of participants attended more than 70 programs across all four public library branches.
