Both the Newport News and Hampton fire departments are looking for good men and women.
The two departments will team up to host a pair of informational open houses in July.
The first open house is scheduled for July 11 at Hampton Fire Station 11. The second open house is scheduled for July 18 at the Newport News Fire Training Center.
Both open houses will have three information sessions on the listed dates: 10 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The open houses will provide information about the hiring process, as well as give potential candidates opportunities to speak with benefits representatives, peer fitness trainers and employees from both jurisdictions, according to a joint news release from the departments.
Newport News firefighters make a base salary of $38,325 and Hampton firefighters make a base salary of $40,478.
