NEWPORT NEWS — Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the Monday morning shooting death of a man here.

Very few details about the 1:07 a.m. incident had been released, but police did say it was “domestic related,” and they are not looking for any suspects.

“The two subjects involved were known to each other,” Newport News Police spokesman Brandon Maynard said.

Authorities said officers were sent to the 15900 block of Warwick Boulevard “in reference to a shooting.”

There, they found a man “suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.”

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
