NEWPORT NEWS — The local chapter of the Department of Veteran Services is educating local businesses on how veterans skills can translate to their company.
Virginia’s Department of Veterans Services is hosting its Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Employer Training Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 21 at Thomas Nelson Community College.
The free event benefits employers who want to hire veterans but aren’t sure how, as well as small businesses who want to improve their understanding of the talents veterans can bring to their organization, according to a news release from the city.
The training day will allow local businesses to connect with highly educated and skilled veterans looking for employment.
Lunch will be provided but registration is required.
