Newport News man killed in York County crash

A Newport News man was killed Tuesday night after losing control of a pickup and crashing into a tree in York County, Virginia State Police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., Justin Neal Clark lost control of a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado traveling eastbound on Victory Boulevard at the intersection of U.S. 17, causing the truck to cross over a concrete median into the westbound lanes before running off the road and striking a tree, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya of Virginia State Police.

Clark was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, Anaya said.

He was 26 years old.

Clark was not wearing a seatbelt, Anaya said. Alcohol was also a contributing factor.
