Hampton — If you’re headed to Buckroe Beach this summer, the city has you covered.

Throughout the summer months, until Labor Day, the city will be offering a free shuttle service for those visiting Buckroe Beach.

While there are 580 free parking spaces at the nearby park and fishing pier, the city says on their website that it won’t be sufficient for weekend traffic to the beach.

According to the website, overflow parking will be at Jones Magnet Middle School, 1819 Nickerson Blvd. The shuttle hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Sundays.

There will be a drop-off point after the shuttle leaves the school at Buckroe Avenue and the beachfront.

Every 25 minutes the shuttle will make a loop and those with bulky beach gear items are encouraged to drop off the gear at the beach before using the shuttle to get to and from their cars.
