If you have any info on any of these two robberies, call the cops

HAMPTON — Police here are investigating two robberies reported Monday and Tuesday and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspects.

The incidents appear to be unrelated.

Pizza delivery guy

Police say an 18-year-old Yorktown man was delivering pizza at around 11:07 p.m. Monday in the first block of Covenant Court when a man called out to him.

That suspect and another man then approached the 18-year-old and assaulted him, police said. The suspects took money and food from the pizza delivery man and fled on foot.

The delivery man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police said the suspects are both black men, between 20 and 30 years old, and both about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Additional information about the incident was not immediately released.

Convenience store heist

On Tuesday around 8:54 p.m., officers responded to Little E’s Convenience Store in the 300 block of Buckroe Avenue “in reference to a business robbery that had just occurred.”

Police said a white man went into the store, “displayed a firearm, and demanded money from the clerk.”

“After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency the suspect fled on foot from the business and was last observed running through an alleyway behind the business toward East Pembroke Avenue,” police wrote in a news release.

He was last seen wearing a a red baseball cap, blue and white bandana on his face, a black and grey jacket, and black pants. The suspect is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing about 160 pounds, police said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incidents, the identities and whereabouts of the suspects to call the Hampton Police Division at 757-727-6111 or the Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
