Here’s one way to honor our troops

The Hampton History Museum, along with more than 2,000 museums nationwide, will offer free admission to active duty military from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

It’s a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense. The complete list of museums participating can be found here.

In addition, the Hampton History Museum will offer the same deal to NASA Langley staff and their families, which it has done in the past.

One of the feature exhibits at the museum this year in “Pirates, Privateers and Buccaneers,” which is on loan from the South Carolina State Museum. It highlights the story of Blackbeard and other pirates.

The Hampton History Museum is at 120 Old Hampton Lane.
