HAMPTON — Hampton National Cemetery will host a one hour Memorial Day service.
In commemoration of U.S. service members, the cemetery will hold the service on site from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on May 28.
The Hampton National Cemetery is the burial place of many fallen soldiers.
Burial in a national cemetery is open to all members of the armed forces who have met a minimum active duty service requirement and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, according to the National Cemetery website.
Hampton National Cemetery is currently closed to new interments. The only interments that are being accepted are subsequent interments for veterans or eligible family members in an existing gravesite.
