HAMPTON- A 37 year old Hampton man is in jail for allegedly trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.
Tyler Wrucke was arrested on Wednesday morning after kissing the girl’s forehead and attempting to persuade her to leave with him near a bus stop in the 100 block of Grandview Drive, according to a news release from Hampton Police.
The girl ran when a Hampton City School employee intervened and picked up the child and took her to school, according to the release.
Wrucke is charged with one count of attempted abduction and one count of assault and battery. He remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail, according to the release.
Police did not release further details about the case, citing an open investigation.
