NEWPORT NEWS — Earth Day is coming a day early this year at the Virginia Living Museum.

The museum will celebrate the occasion from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday at 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd.

Patrons will be able to watch animals as they are fed and work on activities with museum staff, according to a news release from the museum.

Earth-friendly vendors will also be on-hand to show and sell green merchandise. There will also be crafts, eco-friendly giveaways and special animal shows, according to the release.

The museum asks that guests bring batteries, cellphones, old sneakers, electronics and bulk plastics for recycling.

As part of the Earth Day festivities, the museum will have its Spring Native Plants Sale.

Admission to the Earth Day celebration is included with the museum fee, which is $20 for adults and $15 for children between 3 years old and 12 yeas old.
