People will go ‘Over the Edge’ of a City Center building…for a good cause

NEWPORT NEWS — If you have ever wondered what it would be like to rappel down the side of a building, or toss your boss off the roof, the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula is giving you that chance May 5.

In the group’s Over the Edge event, participants will rappel down the side of the Holiday Inn Newport News at City Center.

There is a $1,000 minimum pledge for the participants, with prizes if you raise more than that amount.

The United Way also is offering a “Toss the Boss” option for companies and groups that want to raise funds as a team.

There will be other activities, music and games, as well as food and beer trucks.
