WILLIAMSBURG— Bricks and MiniFigs Williamsburg, a new Lego store, will be opening at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets in early 2025.

Clint Rhine Jr., a pilot with JetBlue, was looking for a way to incorporate family time with his two daughters. With a schedule working red-eye flights, Rhine is often away from home and keeps odd hours. After finding a Nintendo Lego set on one of his trips, Rhine and his two daughters put it together.

“The Nintendo Lego set reminded me exactly of the setup that I had as a kid. I thought it would be a fun way to kind of build some family time back into me and my daughters. I bought it, I came home, and we sat down all three of us and picked a different piece of it. We didn’t really think much of it other than it was just a fun family night,” Rhine says.

A few weeks later, Rhine saw the new Lego Titanic series and asked his kids if they wanted to put that kit together. When they didn’t seem interested, Rhine went ahead and bought the kit anyway.

“I thought you know what, let’s just try it. I bought this ridiculously big Lego set and we spent the next four and a half months building it, little by little,” Rhine said.

The Rhine family filmed the process and uploaded it to Instagram. They finished the entire project on Clint’s 40th birthday. After finding out about an opportunity to franchise a Bricks and MiniFigs store through Instagram, Rhine reached out to the company to learn more about the process.

The store will be a catch-all for Lego lovers. There will be brick and mini figure tables where the community can come in and build, the store will serve as a buy, sell, trade, location for all types of Lego sets, and employees will be able to help inspire creativity with new ways to reuse Legos.

Bricks and MiniFigs Williamsburg is the only Lego-approved reseller on the peninsula. The next closest Bricks and MiniFigs locations are in the Richmond area.

“Our store will sell only Lego or Lego-approved merchandise. There’s no MegaBlocks or what they call FLego (fake Lego). It is literally only Lego or Lego-approved vendors. We’ll have Lego jewelry from AbbieDabbles, military helicopters and military mini figures from BattleBrick, but it’s all things that Lego and minifigs franchises has approved,” Rhine said.

The new store will be located next to Build-A-Bear Workshop and has a targeted early 2025 opening date.

In the future, Rhine hopes to add in birthday parties and community event opportunities.

“My whole goal is to build something here to improve Williamsburg. I want it to be a place where people are excited to go. I want it to be a destination for kids and their families to come and build these toys,” Rhine says.

More information on the opening of the store will be coming soon. For the most up-to-date information, visit Bricks and MiniFigs Williamsburg on Instagram.
