WILLIAMSBURG — A weekend of whiskey and wine-centered events is set to take place throughout the City of Williamsburg June 28-30, as part of a themed weekend of programming highlighting Williamsburg restaurants and businesses.

Featured events include:

  • A three-part class on the history of whiskey including tastings and presentations, hosted by whiskey expert and William & Mary alum Greg Benson, taking place at the Amber Ox Public House.
  • A blind wine tasting experience, providing guests the opportunity to step into the shoes of a sommelier, learning about blind tasting categorization before participating in a relaxed competition at the Blue Talon Bistro.
  • A “Art of the Old Fashioned” cocktail class hosted by Copper Fox Distillery, including instruction and cocktail samplings.
  • A tasting party with live music for Silver Hand Meadery’s latest release, its award-winning Tangerine mead.
  • A free colonial walking tour showcasing Williamsburg’s connections to the history of whiskey.
  • Unique, themed meal and drink specials hosted at various locations.

Events are taking place at a dozen locations throughout the City of Williamsburg. Some are ticketed or require reservations, while others are free and open to walk-in guests.

The primary sponsor for the weekend is the City of Williamsburg, and the event is produced by AVAdventure Productions, a Williamsburg-based production company.

“From tastings to live entertainment, this weekend has something for any adults interested in diving deeper into the worlds of whiskey or wine,” said Liz Sykes, event producer. “We look forward to seeing people enjoying these events throughout the city at the end of June.”
