ICYMI: Yorktown’s Free Summer Concert Series Begins June 6

Yorktown’s popular summer concert series returns on June 6 (York County)

YORKTOWN — Yorktown’s Sounds of Summer concert series begins Thursday, June 6, at Riverwalk Landing in Historic Yorktown.

The Thursday-night concerts are from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 15, with the exception of July 4, and all concerts are free.

The Uptown Band kicks off the series, followed by an lineup that includes rock-n-roll, R&B, pop, beach, and country music.

The 2024 lineup includes:

  • June 6 — The Uptown Band
  • June 13 — The Main Event Band
  • June 20 — The Nashville Nights Band
  • June 27 — Blackout
  • July 11 — The Gentlemen & Their Lady
  • July 18 — The Embers
  • July 25 — InsideOut Band
  • Aug. 1 — Band of Oz
  • Aug. 8 — The Deloreans
  • Aug. 15 — Slapnation

Visitors are encouraged to arrive before the concerts begin and enjoy dinner or dessert at any of Historic Yorktown’s waterfront restaurants, including Water Street Grille, Carrot Tree, Umi Sushi, Ben & Jerry’s and Yorktown Pub.

According to York County Public Affairs, the Sounds of Summer concert series includes a dance floor, cornhole and food trucks. Guests are permitted to bring their own blankets, chairs, and small coolers. Tables, umbrellas, and tents are not allowed. Concertgoers may bring their own alcohol, but it must be consumed in the designated concert area.

Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs until 9:30 p.m. during every concert with a modified route that includes some of the stops on the outskirts of town.
