HISTORIC TRIANGLE — In-person early voting for the Democratic and Republican presidential primary races begins on Friday, Jan. 19.
James City County
Early Voting is available to all James City County registered voters at the JCC Vote Center at 4095 Ironbound Road regardless assigned polling place. The Vote Center is the only designated location in James City County for early voting in-person.
An absentee ballot application is not used for early voting in-person. Voters will need to provide their name and address and present an acceptable ID.
Early voting in-person begins Friday, Jan. 19. Voters can vote from Monday-Friday, Jan. 19-March 1, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and the last two Saturdays before each Election, Saturday, Feb. 24 and March 2. Saturday, March 2 is the last day for early voting in-person at the JCC Vote Center.
The 2024 Presidential Primary is Tuesday, March 5. Voting on Election Day is available to all registered voters in James City County who wish to vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day. Find information on voting precincts here. View sample ballots by precinct here.
Absentee voting by mail is available to all James City County registered voters who wish to vote an absentee ballot by mail. A completed, signed, submitted absentee ballot application is required for this method. Apply for an absentee ballot by mail online through the Virginia Department of Elections. Friday, Feb. 23 is the last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you. Absentee ballot applications must be completed online no later than 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 23.
Williamsburg
In the City of Williamsburg, voters can cast their ballots at the Voter Registrar’s Office, located in the Municipal Building at 401 Lafayette St., Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through March 1, the city said. The office will also be open two Saturdays: Feb. 24 and March 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Polls will be open on Primary Election Day — Tuesday, March 5 — from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To see a precinct map for polling locations on Election Day, visit williamsburgva.gov/vote.

To request an absentee ballot or register to vote, contact Tina Reitzel at 757-220-6241 or treitzel@williamsburgva.gov. The city reminds residents that Virginia allows same-day registration, meaning eligible voters can register at any time, up to and including Election Day. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, Feb. 23.
Absentee ballots, which will be mailed to those who have requested to vote by mail, can be returned to a dropbox outside the front doors of the Municipal Building or sent through the mail. Postage is prepaid. Ballots sent through the mail must be postmarked by Election Day, March 5, and received no later than noon Friday, March 8.

York County
In York County, there are two ways to vote in person:
- Early Voting (before Primary Day) is available starting Jan. 19 at 8:30 a.m. at both office locations.
- 5322 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, or
- 6614 Mooretown Road, Ste. A, Williamsburg.
Voting will continue, Monday through Friday, until Friday, March 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both offices will also be open on two Saturdays (Feb. 24 and March 2) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Primary Day, March 5: All regular York County polling places will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. If you are in line at 7 p.m., you are still able to vote; do not get out of line.

Those who want to vote absentee by mail can apply for an absentee ballot online, or download a form here to complete, sign, and mail. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 in order to receive an absentee ballot by mail.
Voters who receive their ballot by mail can return it by mail or by dropbox. Ballot dropboxes will be available the same dates, times, and locations listed above for early voting, as well as on Monday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 5 (Primary Day) from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Dropboxes will also be available at each York County polling place on Tuesday, March 5 (Primary Day) from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.
