York County to Celebrate Veterans Day with “Letters and Portraits From War”

YORK COUNTY — York County will host a Veterans Day ceremony starting at noon on Nov. 11 at York Hall, 301 Main Street.

The theme of the ceremony is “Letters and Portraits from War” and will feature excerpts of letters as well as photographs from deployed servicemembers to their families back home.

The program includes tolling of the bell, presentation of the colors, singing of the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and “Taps.” There will also be a special recognition of all veterans of the Armed Forces.

Organization that will be present for the event include York High School’s Navy JROTC the Comte de Grasse Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Moore House Society, Children of the American Revolution, and Chapter 13 Disabled American Veterans. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 824 will act as Color Guard for the ceremony.
