York County Has Announced Final Date for Chemical & Electronic Disposal Events

YORK COUNTY — The final date of the year for residents to dispose of certain household items safely through York County has been announced.

On Saturday, Nov. 13, the County will host a Household Chemical/Computer Recycling/Shred Event, which encourages residents to bring items such as cleaning products, paints, fuels, and automotive chemicals for safe disposal. In an Oct. 29 announcement from York County, residents are also encouraged to bring other items such as computers, monitors, cell phones, printers and related items for disposal. It is important to note that televisions will not be accepted.

Additionally, residents can bring papers for shredding.

It is important to note that this event is open to all residents serviced by Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority (VPPSA) are eligible to participate in the event. Upon arrival, volunteers will ask what city or county the resident lives in and require proof therein.

The event will take place at the York County Public Works building, located at 105 Service Drive in Yorktown, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
