YORKTOWN — In celebration of National Fossil Day, interpretive tables will be stationed outside the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center, 1000 Colonial Pkwy, for guests to learn more about the region’s prehistoric past.
The National Fossil Day Celebration, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include activities such as a mini fossil dig, an opportunity for guests to make their own fossil, a microscope fossil search as well as other arts and crafts.
Guests will also have the chance to talk with Dr. Stephen Godfrey, Curator of Paleontology from the Calvert Marine Museum.
The event is free with the price of admission to the park.
