Units Respond to Residential Fire in Tabb

TABB — In the early morning hours of Weds., Oct 27, units responded to a residential fire in the Roberts Trace subdivision of Tabb in York County.

At approximately 4 a.m., law enforcement called for units from York County Department of Fire and Life Safety (YCFLS) and Langley Air Force Base, who then reported to the 200 block of Halles Run in the Roberts Trace subdivision to discover a fire at a residence. York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) was able to remove one person from the home prior to the arrival of fire units.

Rescue units were able to locate one victim outside of the residence and immediately rendered treatment. The victim was soon transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. Deputies from YPSO were also evaluated for smoke exposure but none required transportation to the hospital.

During this time, units treated the fire followed by a search of the interior and a fire attack.

Fire units remained on scene conducting what to investigate the fire’s origin and cause.

YCFLS notes that Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fire and Emergency Services as well as Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue provided backfill for the its fire stations.
